Born in 1931 in Marseille, he has always worked in both design and painting, and claims to be self-trained, an autodidact. From 1956 on he has exhibited in various galleries in France and the United States, and has received various prizes in certain exhibitions.
With his pencil and brush strokes at once free and spirited, Guy Toubon defines the nature of a landscape, a still life, or a street scene.
"An artist should neither explain things, nor try to explain himself, since he has created a work which should be self-explanatory. His work must stand on its own merits, must appeal to us through the painting itself, without any commentary." - Guy Toubon
